Shot Fired In Hopkinsville Robbery

 

Authorities have released surveillance camera photos from a robbery on North Main Street in Hopkinsville that led to a shot being fired Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police say a man robbed the Marathon gas station at gunpoint then got into someone’s vehicle outside the business and pointed a gun at the owner and demanded him to drive.

The owner of the vehicle reportedly got into a fight with the suspect and was able to take the gun from the suspect and a shot was fired.

During the fight, police say the driver and the suspect fell out of the vehicle causing the vehicle to roll down the roadway with no driver before coming to a stop.

Police say the suspect then fled the area on foot leaving the gun.

It’s unknown at this time if the suspect was shot during the fight over the gun.

The suspect is described as a male wearing all black with a black mask and white gloves on.  The owner of the vehicle was reportedly checked out at the scene by Christian County EMS for chest pains.
