Section Of KY 164/Roaring Springs Road Closing Monday For Repairs

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has made plans for daytime closures for a section of KY 164/Roaring Springs Road in southern Trigg County — beginning Monday morning, February 21.

Extensive repairs are needed due to recent flooding, and as such, KY 164 will be closed from the intersection with KY 139/South Road near the 18-mile marker, to the east at mile point 23.4 near the KY 525/New Hope Road intersection.

This section will be closed from roughly from 7:30 in the morning until 2:30 p.m. each day until the work is complete. KYTC officials note engineers are “optimistic” the work can be completed in one week.

The amount of work, coupled with the needed positioning of equipment, is what requires the closure. Numerous members of the Trigg County Highway Maintenance Crew will be on site.

Furthermore, there will be no marked detour. Motorists need to self-detour through KY 525/New Hope Road and KY 139/South Road. Trucks should seek approved state routes based on load weight.

More than 500 vehicles travel this section of road daily. KYTC District 1 officials will provide timely notice, should this work move expeditiously.
