The Friends of Land Between the Lakes will be having its second organized shoreline clean-up Saturday in Lyon County.
Carlin Lewis, a spokesman with the USDA Forest Service, said volunteers are asked to meet at nine Saturday morning at the Kentucky Lake Scenic Drive picnic area for the cleanup along the scenic drive.
December's storms deposited trash and other debris along the shoreline. This is in addition to normal trash. Lewis said this is the second clean-up the non-profit Friends of LBL have conducted in the past month.
Lewis reminds people that may encounter large storm debris either along the shoreline or by hiking not to try and remove it for safety reasons.
Volunteers are asked to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring water, closed-toe shoes, work gloves, and a sack lunch. If weather postpones the event, it will be held next Saturday. February 19.
