Meritor, Wabash Announce Five-Year Agreement

Last week, Meritor, Inc. announced its long-term agreement with Wabash has been extended through December 31, 2026, in what is the first-ever five-year agreement between the two companies.

According to the agreement, Meritor loose axles will continue to be standard equipment, while its Tire Inflation System will remain a preferred option in all Wabash configurations. Meritor’s lightweight MTA-Tec6 and MPA suspensions, EX+ LS air disc brakes and its automatic slack adjusters will be available as data book options.

The Tire Inflation System helps keep tires properly inflated — reducing wear and increasing fuel economy. The Trailing-Arm suspension is designed to offer ride, handling, tire life and durability for a full range of demanding applications. And the EX+ air disc brakes deliver superior stopping distance and durability.

For 60 years, Meritor has engineered and manufactured groundbreaking trailer suspensions, axles and brakes — building more than 10 million trailer axles that incorporate features to improve quality, extend life and reduce maintenance.

Based out of Troy, Michigan, Meritor is the world’s leading supplier in drivetrain, mobility, braking, aftermarket and electric powertrain options for commercial vehicle and industrial applications.

Headquartered in Lafayette, Indiana, Wabash has operations in Cadiz. Located at 489 International Road, the company specializes in the design and manufacturing of a wide range in products — including, but not limited to, dry freight and refrigeration trailers, tank trailers, dry and refrigerated truck bodies, structural composite panels and similar products, aerodynamic trailer solutions and specialty food grade processing equipment.
