Lt. Governor Presents Funding For Christian County Water Projects

Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman presented checks totaling $2.5 million Wednesday morning to fund five clean water projects in Christian County.

Coming from the small town of Burgin in central Kentucky, Coleman said she understands the need for clean water in rural Kentucky.

click to download audioLt. Governor Coleman presented a $1.13 million check to the Christian County Water District to fund a number of improvements outlined by water district Chairman Ash Brunson.

click to download audioColeman also presented a $1.18 million check to the Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority. Mayor Wendell Lynch said the grant will help continue improvements in the city.

click to download audioAnd the Lt. Governor presented a check for $268,835 to Oak Grove Mayor Teresa Jarvis, who noted the impact the work will have on the South Christian County city.

click to download audioLt. Governor Coleman also made a stop Wednesday in Caldwell County, with more presentations planned across western Kentucky Thursday. Last week Governor Andy Beshear made a stop in Todd County to present a number of clean water grants.
