Stinson Enters ‘Not Guilty’ Plea In Double Murder

Following a December 2021 indictment from a grand jury, Landon Stinson formally entered a “not guilty” plea on two counts of murder at his pre-trial conference Wednesday afternoon in Trigg County Circuit Court — in relation to the deaths of two relatives in July 2021.

Another pre-trial conference for this case, as well as another regarding possession of a controlled substance (first degree, first offense), was set by Circuit Judge C.A. “Woody” Woodall III for 1:15 p.m., April 13.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins noted that should be enough time for some discovery to be provided.

Stinson, 29, had a Hopkinsville address listed on his indictment, and saw a true bill for two counts of murder returned by the December session of the Trigg County grand jury — and is charged in the July 3 killings of 76-year-old Sue Faris and her 28-year-old nephew Matthew Blakeley.

Both were found dead in Faris’ Cerulean Road home, and autopsies determined they both died from gunshot wounds. A further investigation noted the three were related.

Stinson was extradited back to Kentucky from California in September 2021 to face a separate charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and he is still housed in the Christian County Jail under a $2 million cash bond.
