U.S. Representative James Comer has filed for re-election to another term in Congress.

Comer, who previously served in the Kentucky legislature and as the state’s commissioner of agriculture, won a special election to fill the final two months of Ed Whitfield’s term in 2016 after a failed gubernatorial run.  Comer later won the general election for the seat and will be seeking a fourth term in Washington where he serves as the Republican Leader of the House Oversight Committee.

Comer will seek opposition in the May primary from David Sharp of Madisonville.
