Three File to Run for Hopkinsville City Council Seats

One incumbent and two challengers have filed to run for Hopkinsville City Council in the May primary election.

Democrat Phillip Brooks has filed for a 15th term on council. He was first elected in 1991 and was re-elected in 2008 after a 2006 loss to Sherry Wells. Republican Elizabeth Draude has also filed to run for the Ward 12 seat.

Republican Anna Norris has filed to run in the Republican primary for the Ward 5 seat held by Amy Craig since 2016. Craig filed for re-election last month.

Democrat William Coleman has filed to run for the Ward 7 seat held by Terry Parker who has announced he is not seeking re-election. Republican Mark Graham has also filed to run for the Ward 7 seat on the city council.

The deadline to file in the May primary election is Friday. As of Monday afternoon, no one had filed to run in Wards 1, 2, 8, and 11.
