A student was reportedly found to have a weapon while walking near the Christian County school campus Tuesday morning.
According to the Christian County Public School System, around 10 am a student was stopped by administrators near the old Christian County Middle School leaving campus and was found to be in possession of a weapon.
The student was reportedly taken into custody by Hopkinsville Police who confirmed the weapon to be a handgun and that the student had at one point been inside the school.
According to the school system the schools were not put on lockdown due to the student being off-campus and in custody by law enforcement.
