Police have released the name of a Hopkinsville man that was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle on West 7th Street in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 37-year-old Jerry Delaney was crossing the road near the intersection of West 9th Street when he was hit by an eastbound truck driven by 62-year-old Michael Wilkerson of Hopkinsville. Due to weather, a helicopter was not able to transport Delaney. He was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for head injuries.
Police say Delaney can be seen on camera in the area walking from South O’Neal Avenue directly into traffic barely being missed by a westbound vehicle before the crash.
The crash happened just after 4 am.
