Cadiz Traffic Stop Leads To Multiple Charges

A Christian County man was charged with fleeing from law enforcement and reckless driving after a traffic stop on Hopkinsville Road in Trigg County Saturday night.

Trigg County Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Hicks says he attempted to stop 27-year-old Jimmy Wells Jr. of Hopkinsville for reckless driving and he continued for an extended period of time before stopping at a gas station. Wells was reportedly not buckled up and was found to have marijuana and a meth pipe in his belongings.

Hicks says Wells may have destroyed drugs during the extended period of time when he failed to stop. Wells is charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, reckless driving, and second-degree fleeing police.
