Former Soldier Sentenced For Possessing Child Porn

A former Fort Campbell soldier was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to 70 months in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, for possession of child pornography. There is no parole in the federal system.

According to court documents, 24-year old Chase Bowman-Raines of Oak Grove was in possession of pornography between February 15, 2019 and April 20, 2020. In April 2020, after receiving multiple online cyber-tips concerning child porn, several search warrants were executed, including one at Bowman-Raines home. He was taken into custody after he was found in possession of multiple images and videos depicting child pornography.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Nashville and the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Fort Campbell.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Leigh Ann Dycus of the U.S. Attorney’s Paducah Branch Office prosecuted the case.
