Chip Hutcheson, of Kentucky Today, is reporting that 35-year-old Clint Brame — a minister of education and associate pastor of Olive Branch Baptist Church near Madisonville — died tragically in a whitewater rafting accident Friday.

He leaves a wife, Amanda, and daughter, Elizabeth.

According to Hutcheson, Brame became a Christian at 15, and soon afterward felt God’s call to ministry.

He was finishing up his studies at Campbellsville University when Larry Purcell, then pastor of Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, began mentoring Brame. The church commissioned him to work with HR Ministries.

“He grew up in Hopkinsville and had all kinds of options,” Purcell told Hutcheson. “His dad was a big farmer and he could have stayed there and had financial opportunities, but he had such a heart for Jesus and serving Him somewhere. He took the risk and went out on his own. His mother, Jo Ann, had a huge influence on him.

“Ever since I have known him, he is one of the most laid-back, easygoing people you will find. He is very approachable, kind-hearted — he would do anything for you.”
