Trigg County Schools Awarded $10 Million Local Area Vocational Grant

Already handling multiple new construction and renovation projects across the campus, Trigg County Public Schools could begin on another noted target soon — thanks to a large influx of state support.

Tuesday afternoon, school officials were notified that the Kentucky General Assembly had approved their grant application for $10 million under the Local Area Vocational Center legislation.

It means the vocational building — built in 1973 and relatively in need of an update — will be getting a modern fix.

The Trigg County Board of Education first approved its grant application on July 22, in what’s been roughly a six-week process. The board will need to accept the grant during its next board meeting on September 9.
