Judge Denies Bond For Valero Murder Suspect

One of two men accused of a fatal shooting at the Valero gas station on East 9th Street appeared for a pretrial conference in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning.

21-year old Dalton Hall of Springfield, Tennessee appeared virtually from the jail with his defense attorney Eric Bearden and Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling appearing in the courtroom before Judge John Atkins.

Bearden told Judge Atkins he believes there is a “decent chance” they can resolve the case but stated he also wanted to get a trial date. In addition, he said had filed a bond motion which Judge Atkins denied.

Hall is charged with murder and his co-defendant, 26-year old David King of Guthrie is charged with complicity to murder in the death of 31-year old Delmour Moncrief on April 10th. Hall and King fled the gas station after the shooting and Moncrief was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. Hall was arrested a few days later in Alabama while King was taken into custody in Todd County on July 16th.

Hall and King remain lodged in the Christian County Jail.
