Grand Jury Returns Indictments For Wanton Endangerment And Robbery

The Christian County Grand Jury returned several indictments Friday morning including charges of wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police, and robbery.

57-year old Christopher Harris, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree robbery, and leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance.

The charges stem from May 22 when Hopkinsville police say Harris used his vehicle to try and force a woman off of the road on West 7th Street, causing a collision. Police said the female victim suffered injuries to her leg and face. Harris then reportedly broke a window on the woman’s vehicle and then took her keys, phone and purse after she ran to get help.

The grand jury returned a true bill for 35-year old Cornelius Fowler, of Bowling Green, on charges of second-degree robbery and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended/revoked license.

The charges are from July 17th when Hopkinsville police reported Fowler got into a physical altercation with his girlfriend, pulled her hair and then took her keys and fled the area in her car with her purse and dog inside the vehicle. Fowler was later located by police and was taken into custody.

35-year old Jordan Layne Goodman, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended/revoked license, reckless driving and speeding.

The charges are from June 29th when Christian County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop Goodman on Millers Mill Road in connection to a hit-and-run wreck on June 15th where he allegedly hit a lawnmower, injuring a woman. Deputies said Goodman reportedly fled, narrowly missing law enforcement multiple times as he led them on a pursuit that ended in a field on Wayne Hunt Road. After deputies surrounded the vehicle, Goodman reportedly attempted to flee again which led to a deputy discharging his gun into the vehicle’s radiator and he was taken into custody.
