Authorities are asking for the community’s help after a man on trial this week for murder cut off his ankle monitor in Hopkinsville Tuesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 46-year-old James Gentry was out on an ankle monitor after being charged with murder in Trigg County.
He reportedly cut off his ankle monitor in the area of Cox Mill Road and Wooldridge Road. He was last seen with another male at the Circle K on Lafayette Road leaving in a dark-colored pick-up truck. Gentry was wearing dark pants and a red or maroon shirt.
He is described as a man 6-foot tall weighing 168 pounds. Police ask if you have any information on his whereabouts to call the Hopkinsville Christian County dispatch at 270-890-1300.
Gentry is charged with complicity to murder, first-degree robbery, and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun. State police arrested Gentry after Joey Hayes was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a hay barn located on Buffalo Road in Trigg County on November 28, 2018.
Gentry’s trial for those charges began Monday in Trigg County Circuit Court.
