Christian County Grand Jury Returns Indictments

The Christian County Grand Jury returned several indictments Friday, including some with charges of strangulation, theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 – auto, and fleeing or evading police.

Michelle Mixon

The grand jury indicted 56-year-old Michelle Ann Mixon of Canyon, Texas, on first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault – dating violence. After a June 26 incident at LaQuinta Inn in Hopkinsville, the charges came from the Hopkinsville Police Department when Mixon allegedly assaulted a female she used to date. Mixon also reportedly kept the woman’s phone and would not let her call for help.

Tavarious Matthews

24-year-old Tavarious Matthews of Hopkinsville was indicted on first-degree fleeing or evading police and improper registration plates. The Christian County Sheriff’s Department says they attempted to stop Matthews on Cadiz Road on March 4, just after 1:00 a.m., for expired tags, and he fled, leading them on a pursuit. Mathews was eventually stopped at Walnut Street after spike strips were used. Authorities say Mathews fled from Paducah Police before he was taken into custody by Christian County deputies.

Henry Pratt

30-year-old Henry Pratt of Hopkinsville was indicted on second-degree assault – domestic violence, theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 – auto, theft by unlawful taking – firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and third-degree terroristic threatening. The charges came from the Hopkinsville Police Department from April 15 and 16, when Pratt reportedly caused physical injury to a victim using a handgun and threatened to kill the victim. Pratt then left the area with the gun and took the victim’s car without permission.

Cleve Nedd

And 29-year-old Cleve Roger Nedd, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, receiving stolen property – firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and four drug charges connected to cocaine, meth, and marijuana. The charges came from the Hopkinsville Police Department on March 22, when a search warrant was served. During the search, drugs and other items were within reach of children that lived in the home.
