Man Wanted In Hopkinsville Shooting Located

A man wanted in connection to a March 27th shooting at a Hopkinsville gas station was arrested Friday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 21-year-old Jaylynn Cheatham has been arrested in connection to a shooting that injured two people.

Police say they were called to the Marathon gas station on East 9th Street at South Campbell Street for a report of shots fired just before 10 pm.

When they arrived they found 20-year-old Darrius Quarles of Hopkinsville with several gunshot wounds who was still at the gas station.

Police say a second person 38-year-old Byran Jones of Cadiz showed up at the hospital shortly after with injuries from the shooting.

Quarles was taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville for severe injuries. Jones was treated at Jennie Stuart Medical Center for his injuries and later released. Over 40 shell casings were found at the scene.
Cheatham is charged with first-degree assault and wanton endangerment.
