Police have released the name of an Owensboro woman that was shot in an altercation on North Elm Street in Hopkinsville Thursday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area just before 11 pm for an unknown problem and found 26-year-old Marka Smith that had been shot.
Smith was found in an SUV at the intersection of West 2nd Street and taken by ambulance to a waiting helicopter that transported her to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The extent of her injuries was unknown.
