YMCA Exceeds ‘Gallop For The Good’ Fundraising Campaign Goal (w/Video)

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Family YMCA had a successful fundraising effort and reached its goal Saturday afternoon as jockeys galloped their way to the finish line on stick horses at the Oak Grove Racing, Gaming, Hotel in Oak Grove.

Program Director Joe Wilson tells the News Edge says this was the 3rd annual ‘Gallop for the Good’ and he’s excited they reached their fundraising goal.

He says the money raised will be used for several YMCA programs.

Wilson adds the YMCA is more than a gym and is involved in the community.

He also thanked officials with Oak Grove Racing, Gaming, Hotel for allowing them to have the event Saturday, as well as the jockeys and community who participated in the YMCA’s ‘Gallop for the Good’ fundraising campaign.

The jockeys that participated in the event included: Adam Murphy with Harbor Insurance, Becky Williamson with Edge Media Group, Tyler Jones with Edward Jones, Amy Rogers with the Christian County Chamber of Commerce, Ashlee Campbell with South Christian Elementary School, Marvin Barnes with the YMCA, Josue Parris with Crown Services, D.J. Londo with the Oak Grove Racing, Gaming, Hotel, Nancy Askew with Higgins Insurance, and Martha Argotte of United Southern Bank.
