Man Charged After Multi-County High-Speed Pursuit

A high-speed pursuit that started in the area of Interstate 69 in Hopkins County ended in Crofton Thursday night.

Kentucky State Police say they stopped a truck in Hopkins County and after talking with the driver the passenger got behind the wheel of the truck and fled at a high rate of speed. The man fled into Christian County where spike strips were used in the area of Mannington Loop and Madisonville Road.

During the pursuit, the man allegedly tried to hit law enforcement several times before running off the road and hitting a street sign at the intersection of Madisonville Road and Kentucky 800.

Authorities say the man was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. A full list of his charges and his name has not been released.
