A Clarksville man was killed in a wreck on US 68 at the Lake Barkley Bridge in Trigg County Wednesday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police say a van driven by 64-year-old John Smith was going eastbound in the westbound lanes and narrowly missed colliding with two vehicles before hitting a truck driven by 20-year-old Andrew Amsden, of Cadiz.
Amsden and a passenger in his vehicle were taken by ambulance to Trigg County Hospital with what authorities say are non-life-threatening injuries. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by the Trigg County Coroner’s Office.
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. and led to the westbound lanes being closed for several hours.
