Another Pretrial Conference Date Set In Swykert Murder Case

Another pretrial conference date has been set for June in the case of a Texas man charged with murder in connection to a single-vehicle wreck on The Trace in Trigg County in June.

Christopher Swykert and attorney Bill Deatherage appeared virtually before Trigg County Circuit Court Judge C.A. Woodall Wednesday.

Deatherage said they are getting close to a resolution with Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins.

Swykert is out on bond and must stay in Trigg County through the rest of his court proceedings.

Swykert was charged with murder and DUI after state police said he was southbound on The Trace on June 20. They said he failed to navigate a curve and ran off the road, with the vehicle overturning and crashing into a tree.

Police said 19-year-old Harry Daniel Kincaid of Houston was killed in the crash. Kincaid was a soldier stationed at Fort Campbell.
