Genesis Express Excited To Host Friday Fish Fry

Although COVID-19 has again wiped out several of the traditional Cadiz Rotary Club auction week activities, the popular Genesis Express Fish Fry will occur Friday evening.

Organization President George Radford tells the News Edge they will be set up in the WKDZ/WHVO parking lot and begin serving at 5:00. He adds they will offer fried catfish, white beans, coleslaw, and hush puppies.

Radford says he will be taking orders Friday evening; you can place an order by calling (270) 871-1344.

Genesis Express keeps 100-percent of all proceeds raised and, after paying expenses for the fundraiser, uses the money to support its youth programming and senior services.

One of the current activities is the Community Garden, a partnership between Genesis and the Trigg County 4-H and Extension Office.

Genesis Express is in the process of building a bigger facility less than a mile north of the current location. Radford says it is moving right along.

Radford adds other 2021 plans include giving away scholarships to deserving students at Trigg County High School, hosting a summer reading camp in July, and handing out backpacks and school supplies, and hosting a fun day for students before they return to the classroom.
