Cadiz Rotary Kickoff Breakfast Embraces Spirit Of Club

Cadiz Rotarians embraced the “Spirit of Rotary” as they kicked off the 54th Annual Rotary Auction Monday at Lake Barkley State Resort Park.

Rotarian and Judge Jamus Redd set the stage for the week by presenting the ‘Spirit of Rotary’ award to the family and friends of the late Gina Allen.

click to download audioRedd also presented a ‘Spirit of Rotary’ award to the family of Simone Parker, a Trigg County High School teacher that headed up the Cadiz Rotary Interact Club and died earlier this year.

click to download audioMeanwhile, Penny Jones presented the ‘President’s Award’ to Youth and Senior Services Treasurer Keith Washer.

click to download audioRotary Auction Co-Chairman J. B. Moore presented the Rotarian of the Year award to Club President and Auction Co-Chair David Miller.

click to download audioAnd Rotarian Beth Mann presented a Paul Harris Fellow award to Martha Steinbeck for her work on behalf of the club.

click to download audioThe Auction kicked off with the sale of the Shadow Box Collection of Bicentennial Pins donated by Trigg County Tourism to Terry and Caroline Hamby, who donated the collection to the Trigg County Museum. Rotarians sold a hand-carved shore board donated Arnold Chlupsa, a Ben Cundiff Country Ham, and a bucket of money that was taken up at the door.
