HCC to Host Women’s History Month Speaker Candy Johnson

Hopkinsville Community College will host a virtual special Women’s History Month event Tuesday, March 30.

HCC’s event “Women Who Lead With Purpose and Power” will feature President/CEO of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga Candy Johnson. She will provide insights into what has helped her achieve success as a leader in addition to other thoughts on women in leadership. The virtual lecture will take place at noon Tuesday, March 30 via Teams by clicking here. Participants may also use the link provided under the events section on HCC’s Facebook page.

Johnson’s professional experience includes more than a decade leading in nonprofit, government, education and various civic roles. A native of Clarksville, Tennessee, she was the youngest member ever elected to public office for the Clarksville City Council, at age 25 in 2008. Before taking the helm of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga this January as its President and CEO, she served as a senior advisor to Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke where she acted as a member of the Mayor’s senior leadership team heading up community-focused initiatives to create sustainable partnerships and external investments to advance the economic, racial and social agenda of the administration – ultimately improving the quality of life for all residents.
