Man Wanted In Connection To Hopkinsville Shooting

Police have released the names of two people that were injured and are asking for help locating a man in connection to a shooting at a Hopkinsville gas station Saturday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 21-year-old Jaylynn Cheatham is wanted on charges of first-degree assault and wanton endangerment in connection to a shooting that injured two people.

Police say they were called to the Marathon gas station on East 9th Street at South Campbell Street for a report of shots fired just before 10 pm.

When they arrived they found 20-year-old Darrius Quarles of Hopkinsville with several gunshot wounds who was still at the gas station.

Police say a second person 38-year-old Byran Jones of Cadiz showed up at the hospital shortly after with injuries from the shooting.

Quarles was taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville for severe injuries. Jones was treated at Jennie Stuart Medical Center for his injuries and later released. Over 40 shell casings were found at the scene.
