State Police Investigate Calloway County Death

Kentucky State Police are not releasing the identity of a woman found in a roadside ditch early Friday morning in Calloway County.

State Police were initially called to the scene to investigate the death of the woman who was located Friday morning around 7:00 am in the Cherry Corner Area of southern Calloway County. The Calloway County Sheriff’s Department initially responded to the scene, but quickly called for assistance from Kentucky State Police. The woman’s body was located by a passerby early Friday morning.

After putting out a call Friday afternoon for help in identifying the woman, Kentucky State Police said early Saturday morning her identity had been confirmed. State Police are not releasing her name to allow notification of next of kin.

Although State Police have not released the woman’s name, the News Edge has learned the woman has a Christian County connection and was a student at Murray State University.

State Police are continuing to investigate the woman’s death and are asking for information from the public that could aid in the investigation.
