A Caldwell County woman was flown to a Nashville hospital Wednesday evening after her vehicle was struck by a train. According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, 28-year old Macie Oliver, of Princeton, was southbound on Matt Rich Road, when she apparently failed to yield to a westbound P&L train and was struck by the train.
Oliver initially refused treatment on the scene but was later flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of what were termed non-life-threatening injuries.
Two juveniles in the vehicle were not injured in the crash, which occurred around 6:50 pm.
