Health Department Offering Diabetes Alert Day Tuesday

The Pennyrile District Health Department will be hosting a Diabetes Alert Day Tuesday to raise awareness regarding the risk factor associated with Type 2 Diabetes and the seriousness of the disease.

Kelley Dawes with the health department says this is a one-day event that is set aside to make people aware of the importance of the risk factors. She adds if someone has diabetes there is a great risk it will develop into Type 2 diabetes, especially if you have a family member with the disease.
