Trigg County Schools Superintendent Bill Thorpe says he has concerns about two bills passed by the Kentucky General Assembly and now heading to Governor Andy Beshear.
Thorpe says he thinks Senate Bill 128 that will allow students to redo the school year because of COVID-19 is really about athletics.
click to download audioThorpe says he does not see a need for the bill because many districts are working to help students catch up. He said the Trigg County Board of Education would discuss Senate Bill 128 if it becomes law and respond to what will be available for students.
Superintendent Thorpe said he is also concerned about House Bill 563, known as the school choice bill.
