Kentucky Child Care Centers Can Return To Pre-Pandemic Group Sizes

Governor Andy Beshear announced Monday afternoon that licensed childcare facilities could return to traditional class sizes.

By Kentucky Revised Statutes, this means for infant classes, there is to be one adult per five children, with a maximum of ten infants per room.

Governor Beshear added the return to traditional classes includes older children as well.

Even as the facilities can return to pre-pandemic limits, there are significant policies in place to protect children.

Beshear added childcare facilities might also conduct in-person tours after hours.

The news came on the same day the state announced 396 new COVID-19 cases and 23 deaths. The statewide testing positivity rate remained the same as Sunday’s, 3.99-percent.

There are 464 Kentuckians hospitalized with COVID-19, while 114 residents are in the ICU, and 67 are on a ventilator.
