Kentucky Announces Regional Career Centers To Open In April

Kentucky officials announced Thursday that 11 regional Kentucky Career Centers would open next month.

Governor Andy Beshear said on April 15, the state will open regional career centers, in Hopkinsville, Paducah, Owensboro, Bowling Green, and Elizabethtown, in western Kentucky.

Governor Beshear’s general counsel, Amy Cubbage, said the centers come as other good news was announced this week, following President Joe Biden’s signature, which made the new $1.9 trillion stimulus bill law.

Cubbage added there would be no disruption in benefits, as the bill was signed before the previous benefits expired.

Cubbage said the bill would also waive some federal tax income requirements for UI claimants for 2020.

The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program will also have three new circumstances added in which you can apply for benefits.

She added they are working to make changes to the state’s system and hope to have them completed soon.
