Attorney Looking To Resolve Swykert Murder And DUI Case

Settlement discussions continue with the Commonwealth concerning a Texas man charged with murder in connection to a single-vehicle wreck on The Trace in Trigg County in June.

Christopher Swykert and attorney Bill Deatherage appeared virtually before Trigg County Circuit Court Judge C.A. Woodall Wednesday.

Judge Woodall set the next pretrial conference date for April 14.

Swykert is out on bond but must stay in Trigg County through the rest of his court proceedings.

Swykert was charged with murder and DUI after state police said he was southbound on The Trace on June 20. They said he failed to navigate a curve and ran off the road. Swykert’s vehicle overturned and crashed into a tree.

Police said 19-year-old Harry Daniel Kincaid of Houston was killed in the crash. Kincaid was a soldier stationed at Fort Campbell.
