Body Found Identified As Missing Clarksville Man

The body of a Clarksville man, who was last seen December 17 at a gas station in Oak Grove, was found Tuesday afternoon in Montgomery County.

Clarksville Police report the body of 20-year-old Justin Sawyer was found on Kennedy Road, and his remains were identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Nashville. The department adds the case remains an active investigation.

Marquell Sims, Dawuan Davis, and Gene Henry face various charges after Sawyer went missing. The men and their attorneys appeared virtually before Christian County Circuit Judge John Atkins to enter not guilty pleas to charges concerning the case.

Davis is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, and kidnapping, while Sims is facing complicity to the same charges. Henry is charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

Justin Sawyer was last seen at the Shell on Kentucky 115 in Oak Grove. According to the arrest citations, Davis shot Sawyer in the leg twice during an attempted robbery and made him continue driving. Henry also helped Davis move Sawyer’s body from inside his car to the trunk.

Sawyer’s car was located on January 14 in Georgia.

No other information has been released if the men will face any additional charges in relation to the case.
