Hopkinsville Man Found With Forged Checks

A Hopkinsville man was served a warrant on charges of theft and criminal possession of a forged instrument while he was in jail on other charges Monday.

Hopkinsville Police say 45-year-old Phillip Stroud was found to have four checks with a forged signature that he had tried to deposit into his account. The total amount of the checks was $715. Stroud was already in jail when he was served the warrant due to prior charges of trafficking meth, tampering with physical evidence, and trafficking marijuana.
Stroud is charged with theft by deception and four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
