A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly entered a home and assaulted a man on Copperfield Avenue in Hopkinsville Wednesday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 34-year-old Dellondo Ross wanted money from the 63-year-old man and proceeded to kick and punch him. During the assault, the man fell to the ground and Ross reportedly slammed a table on him causing a serious head wound before fleeing the area in an SUV.
Police say the SUV was located on Boyd Street and as authorities were towing the vehicle 23-year-old Sara Chancey, who was intoxicated, would not move out of the way.
The man who was assaulted was taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville. The extent of his injuries was unknown.
Ross was found on Aspen Drive just before 2 am after a report of another disturbance and he was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary.
Chancey is charged with public intoxication and obstructing governmental operations.
