KY COVID Cases Down With Vaccinations Up

Kentucky’s COVID-19 case total continues to decline as vaccinations increase across the state. On Thursday, Kentucky reported 963 cases of COVID-19 — the fewest for a Thursday since October 8.

The state’s testing positivity rate increased to seven-percent with Governor Andy Beshear crediting the bump to the bad weather across the state that has closed some testing sites.

The state also announced 37 deaths related to the virus with 17 of those coming residents of long-term care facilities.

As of Thursday, nearly 556,000 Kentuckians had received at least one dose of the vaccine with 13-percent of those people residents of long-term care facilities.
