Christian County Health Department Postpones COVID Vaccines to Friday

 

Bad weather forced the Christian County Health Department to close Tuesday which also canceled a round of COVID-19 vaccinations at the Bruce Convention Center.

Amanda Sweeney-Brunt with the health department said Tuesday’s vaccinations will be rescheduled for later this week.

click to download audioThe CDC has said the second dose can be administered between a window of 28 and 42 days with Sweeney-Brunt adding that postponing the second dose for a few days won’t affect the vaccine’s ability to work so long as it’s given in that window.

click to download audioThe Christian County Health Department gives vaccines as one of 10 regional COVID-19 vaccination sites in western Kentucky. Appointments are available to be made each week. She said the best way to make a vaccination appointment is through the health department’s website.

click to download audioAs of now, the Christian County Health Department will not give vaccines to Tennessee residents. However, Sweeney-Brunt said Tennessee residents who work in Kentucky can receive a vaccine at the regional site.
