Winter Storm Warning Effective Sunday Night Through Tuesday Morning

A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect at 6:00 Sunday night, lasting through 6:00 Tuesday morning.

Paducah National Weather Services officials said the system could bring two waves of snow, one beginning Sunday night and a heavier band Monday into Monday night. They add the region could see anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of snow during the system, with locally higher amounts possible.

Travel conditions will become hazardous Sunday night through Tuesday morning, with blowing snow possible during the storm.

Officials said another robust weather system is expected to impact the area Wednesday and lasts through Thursday evening. That system will bring another round of snow to the area, with the possibility of seeing a period of freezing rain/sleet Thursday.

Temperatures will remain below freezing through at least next weekend.
