Kentucky Reports Continued Decline In COVID-19 Cases

Kentucky reported 1,532 new COVID-19 cases Sunday afternoon, with 31 new deaths.

Governor Andy Beshear reported the state positivity rate dropped below eight percent to 7.97 percent. There are currently 1,235 people hospitalized, with 290 people in the intensive care, and 140 currently on a ventilator. With 31 additional deaths, the statewide death toll now stands at 4,051.

This is the first time since the pandemic began Governor Beshear reported the fourth straight week of declining cases. It is also the first time in several weeks the positivity rate dropped below eight percent.
