A Hopkinsville man was charged with strangulation and assault after a fight with his girlfriend Sunday evening.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to Country Club Lane after 47-year-old Sonny Hallenbeck allegedly used his arm to strangle his girlfriend during a fight. Police say his girlfriend scratched and shoved him to get him off of her. He allegedly admitted to police that he had been drinking prior to the fight and had thrown a glass alcohol bottle as well.
He was arrested and charged with second-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
