Man Injured In South Main Street Crash

Police have released the name of a man that was injured in a wreck on South Main Street near the intersection of West 20th Street Saturday night.

Hopkinsville Police say shortly before midnight an SUV driven by 29-year-old Preston Thomas of Lafayette was southbound on south Main Street.  For an unknown reason his vehicle ran off the road, hit a sign and crashed into a rock wall.

Thomas was reportedly trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.

He was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for injuries to his head, arms, and legs.

Thomas reportedly told witnesses and staff at the hospital that he had been drinking.  Police say Thomas may be charged with DUI after they receive his lab results.
