Kentucky COVID Cases Under 3,000 for Third Straight Day

Kentucky reported 2,250 new cases COVID-19 Tuesday. It marked the third straight day the case number was under 3,000. Prior to that, the case total topped 3,000 10 of the previous 11 days.

The state’s total number of cases is four less than through 19 days of December. However, the state’s fatality total linked to COVID-19 is 107 more than last month after 27 more deaths were reported Tuesday.

The state’s positivity rate is 11.5-percent with an average of 2,000 fewer COVID tests given each day compared to December.

Kentucky is averaging 335 new COVID-19 cases a day in its long-term care facilities in January compared to 597 per day in December.
