Three schools within the Christian County Public Schools system were placed on an instructional lockdown Tuesday afternoon.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel said Gateway Academy and Christian County Middle and High schools were placed on the modified lockdown after 2:00.
Bentzel added an instructional lockdown is below a full lockdown.
The incident took place on North Elm Street near Maplelawn Street. Hopkinsville Police received a call about the incident just after 2:20 p.m.
