Coleman Resigning As U.S. Attorney For Western District Of Kentucky

Russell Coleman, the United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, submitted his letter of resignation effective next week.

Coleman said his resignation is effective Wednesday, January 20. He added serving as the chief federal law enforcement officer in the place he loves, with the people he’s known all his life, has been a humbling honor.

Coleman said he traveled to each of the 53 counties in the district seeking ways to be a more responsive partner to business and community leaders, Commonwealth’s Attorneys, sheriffs, and police departments of all sizes.

During his time as the U.S. Attorney, his office opened a Bowling Green Office for the first time and increased staffing in the Paducah Office.

Coleman added he is forever grateful to everyone who keeps the region safe and are insufficiently lauded for their work.
