Christian County School Students Remaining On NTI Next Week

Students at Christian County Public School who are in the traditional model will continue completing NTI work next week.

District Communications Director John Rittenhouse said there were three reasons for not returning to the classroom next week.

One of the reasons; included Jennie Stuart Health being at capacity. Superintendent Chris Bentzel confirmed that during Thursday night’s board of education workshop meeting.

Rittenhouse added students and staff COVID-19 cases continue to increase across the district, now up to 82 combined, as of Friday afternoon. The district also lists the “dramatic increase” in the number of positive cases in the community as the third reason for not returning to the classroom.

The district added sports practices may resume under modifications Monday; however, there will be no games taking place next week.

Rittenhouse said each school would continue maintaining its regular meal schedule during NTI, as they will distribute three-meal bundles each weekday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Additional locations for meal pickup can be found here.

The district will review data next week and decide for the week of January 18, next Friday.
