Kentucky Lottery Jackpots Climbing To High Levels

As Kentucky Lottery jackpots continue to rise, what someone could do with that kind of money comes to question.

Lottery spokesman Chip Polston says the estimated jackpots for both Mega Millions and Powerball combined are currently at $739 million.

In a Tuesday conversation with the News Edge, Polston adds he has talked with many winners, and one thing they like to do is take dream vacations.

Another common thing for winners to do is help out others.

Polston says the highest jackpot ever was about three years ago when Mega Millions hit $1.6 billion. The largest jackpot won in Kentucky was about $128 million and was won by a couple who lived in Georgetown around Christmas time.

Polston adds Anderson received a ticket that was printed with three plays instead of three individual tickets. He then asked for three individual tickets that would later end up not winning.

That historic ticket can be found on display at the Kentucky Lottery Headquarters in Louisville.
