DDS Glass Doors Has Completed Expansion In Todd County

DDS Glass Doors, a freezer and cooler door manufacturer, has completed its expansion in Elkton.

Governor Andy Beshear said the $1.6 million expansion is expected to create 50 full-time, Kentucky-resident jobs in the years ahead.

In October, company leaders purchased an existing 96,000-square-foot building on Industrial Drive in Elkton to house the expanded operations, including additional equipment, workstations, and conveyor lines. The 50 new jobs expected to result from the expansion will comprise mostly production positions and some supervisory roles. The new jobs will feature an average hourly wage of $23, including benefits across those jobs.

The expansion is complete, and the facility will become fully operational in January.

Founded in 2018, DDS Glass Doors produces and distributes medium- and low-temperature glass doors for coolers and freezers commonly used at convenience and grocery stores to display food and beverages. Demand soon outpaced the company’s production capacity, spurring the current expansion.

Beshear called the expansion a prime example of how the state economy will rebound in 2021.

In addition to the reach-in display doors, DDS makes beer cave doors, surface-mount doors, and viewing windows. The company also sells retrofit LED lights for glass display doors, shelving, and other door accessories.
